How Can I Help?

I help teenagers and adolescents who are on the threshold of a new transition in their lives. Overnight it seems like you are expected to know exactly what do with your life, but being an adolescent and walking through an emerging path of adulthood isn’t the same as it was a few years back. There are so many different challenges and navigating this new reality can feel pretty tough!

As young adults enter new academic settings, new social circles, or new workplace environments, beliefs and values held throughout childhood may be questioned by others from different backgrounds or challenged by new ideas.

If you want to feel:

  • Empowered, free, confident
  • Comfortable in making big decisions
  • Set goals for the future and reach them with ease
  • Thrive in your relationships with yourself and others
  • Navigate through social situations
  • Manage stress and anxiety
  • Explore your personality and identity
  • Looking for meaning in a new stage of life and can’t seem to identify what is important
  • Experiencing life transitions (moving from school to university, moving to a new place, etc.) and feeling lost
  • Experiencing personality changes, shifts in mood, confusion and lack of clarity

Then I help you in Mastering adulthood! Let us go beyond adulting.

My approach to helping individuals is collaborative – grounded in openness, honesty, trust, and humour.  I believe the work we do is rooted in the relationship we build together and should draw upon your strengths and uniqueness.

Sohini Roy Chowdhury

Men’s mental health, self esteem,
anger management

“The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you already are” – Rumi

Specialization – Men’s Mental Health, Counselling for depression, stress, loneliness and Anxiety, building Self Esteem, Relationships and Communication, Counselling for Anger Management, Counselling for Child behavior and Parenting issues, Counselling for healing past/childhood issues

Through my journey in life, one thing I have deeply realized and appreciated that each person is different and unique in their own way. And as I have come close to each of my connections through my earlier profession as well as a Psychotherapist and a Mental Health Practitioner, I’ve seen that each person is as beautiful as the other and carries immense potential within themselves. It just lies beneath to be unlocked and excavated.

I am on my journey to help you become the truest and the best version of yourselves –  as a friend, as a fellow traveler through life, a guide, and as a therapist.

Come, let’s enrich each other!

Know more about Sohini:

In my practise as a therapist I have come across many people, of various backgrounds, age and gender where I have noticed that people are caged in their own thoughts, misconceptions and false beliefs about them and others, and suffer their whole lives. They constantly underestimate themselves, feel unloved and unseen and feel lost in their way through life.

I’ve realized that we all are different and we have our unique traits and potentials, dreams and aspirations. We were all born perfect !! However, on our way through life, somehow we lose our magic and keep looking outwards for the meaning and purpose of life – through material belongings, relationships, degrees, and professional successes. And we lose touch with our inner self – the self which we were meant to be, the self that is truly who it is we are ! Hence I am deeply passionate about helping you in finding your true inner self, your passion and your calling! Each person I work with helps me to unravel their inner layers to reveal the true gem that they are and every time I marvel at the beauty that lies within each soul! I feel empowered and energized every time I look at my clients blossoming into their powerful selves with each session!

I particularly emphasise on Men’s Mental Health and Wellness. Reason being, during the growing years, little boys are never allowed to express their full range of emotions in all their variation and depth. While girls express their emotions freely – both positive and negative, boys and men, on the other hand only tend to exhibit a restricted range of emotion to fit into their gender roles. Hence they learn to suppress a large part of their emotions which have a negative influence on their health, emotional appraisal and their overall identity. Because of this lack of fostering emotional diversity in childhood and youth, men are at a greater risk for stress-related cardiovascular problems, and resort to violence and substance abuse more often than women. And because they can hardly express what they ‘feel’ inside, they are often misunderstood and misjudged. I, therefore, have a deep empathy and an inquisitiveness to understand their problems and offer a non-judgemental space to heal themselves.

Come join me if you want help with:

  •  A space just to be heard and open up to and feel safe about your ‘feelings’ and not be judged for them
  • To sort out your thoughts and emotions when they are too confusing or overwhelming and have clarity and understanding
  • Deal with feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety due to work or relationships
  • Deal with feelings of fear or loneliness
  • Feel empowered and build your self-esteem
  • Deal with relationship or parenting issues
  • Communicate with your partner more intimately
  • Resolve your past/childhood issues
  • Exploring your inner self and find your true authentic self – – As Dr. Seuss said “There is no one alive who is You-er than you”

Being a science graduate and an MBA from a reputed university I have successfully worked in the corporate world for almost 12 years with multinational companies. My job, then, entailed providing training and managing operations for large teams and I felt excited and energised each time I could motivate my employees to reach for higher goals and do well for themselves.

Having completed my 2 year training program in Psychological Counselling from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and nearing completion in my Masters in Psychology, I am now fascinated by the new light that I can see the world with. I keep enhancing my skills and knowledge through regular seminars, workshops and online programs and courses. With my earlier experience as a professional, my knowledge of psychology and counselling, and more than 3 years of experience in this field, I now see life in full circle.
I am also a mother of my two beautiful daughters who have given me a new dimension and purpose of living, and who never stop reminding me of the true meaning and joy of life!

With this, I am excited and ready to share my learnings and experience with you all!
Come, let’s light up that fire!
